Session was led by Ramesh (Education Specialist and Child Development Centre Head for Killinochchi) and Reggie (Child Development Centre Head for Nuwereliya) and we were able to cover everything that we planned too.
What we were able to accomplish during the day:
(1) We started with an icebreaker and a round of introductions.
(2) We then introduced the CAL Centre Head for Batti and the team, to the volunteer teachers.
(3) We then conducted an in-depth introduction to Child Action Lanka as an organization.
(4) The Divisional Director of Eravurpattu then visited us and was introduced to the trainees.
(5) In the afternoon, Ramesh and I took them through the program plan, the purpose of the project and the larger vision.
(6) Covered information about the TFA fellowship and the importance of this pilot in the grander scheme of things in potentially becoming a national programme.
(7) We ended by taking them through the Child Protection Training and the Agreement (including other policies & procedures on conduct).</ul>
We start training on Monday on the area of Educational Inequity and their role as changemakers and teachers next week, the training will be led by Mr Weere Weerasigham , with my assistance.
