Here are some of the highlights from this month.
- The teachers started teaching at the schools and we have got into a routine where we work with the schools to monitor their attendance, their lesson plans, and track the progress that they are making.
- We have had a total of 2 calls with them this month to catch up with them on the progress that they are making and offer them further advice training.
- We are working with Third Space Global (TSG) to organize peer-to-peer support for our teachers and have identified two individuals who work with (TSG) whom we will work with to see if there is a possibility to organize regular support for them.
- On the 27th of April 2024, we had the In-service Advisor for Primary Education from the Batticaloa West Education Zone extend her support by conducting training for our teachers on Play-Based Teaching for Primary Math’s and Tamil teaching – Link to the pictures.
Plans for the Next Month
- Rajeeka, Ramesh, and I will be going to Batticaloa next week (May 6th – 15th), to work with the teachers a little more and make sure everything is all right.
- We plan on working with the teachers a little more to put in plan in place to further monitor the progress of children based on their performance in the classrooms.
- I am in discussions with Charith to organize a special panel discussion with Alumni from Teach First and Teach For India which Rajeeka will moderate to show the teachers or help them understand the long–
